Brighton Junior Barons Annual Meeting

Thank you to all who attended this meeting. For those of you who could not attend, below are some of the highlights of the meeting.
Board business
Brighton Junior Barons' president LP VinCola read the job description of a new Board position, that of Concessions Coordinator:
This person will be responsible for organizing concession activities for all home games, including ordering of supplies and food items as needed. The coordinator will manage all volunteers working in the concessions stand. The coordinator will work with the treasurer to report finances of the stand. This will be a voting member of the executive board.
VinCola called for nominees for this position. Steve Shaughnessy was nominated for the position and seconded.
VinCola also announced that there is an open board position, that of vice president, and called for nominees. Jim Herrmann was nominated and seconded.
Financial Update
Brighton Junior Barons' treasurer Brian Lafountain gave a presentation on the Junior Barons current financial status. He pointed out the significant progress the Junior Barons made in 2009, which has us excellent standing for 2010.
Significant accomplishments made during 2009 were:
More than $22,000 paid to Riddell for football equipment and uniforms
More than $7000 paid for Cheerleading uniforms
Merchandise costs of $5000 from 2008 were paid.
The Junior Barons officially received 501(c)(3), not for profit status.
Registration 2010
Communications coordinator Jim Herrmann presented information on registration for the 2010 season. That information is available by clicking here.
Volunteer requirements for 2010
New and updated volunteer requirements for all football and cheerleading families were highlighted. That information is available by clicking here.
Important 2010 Dates
Secretary Marc Johnson announced important dates for the 2010 season:
August 2, 2010 is the first day of practice.
September 5, 2010 is the date of our first game.
Game schedule will be released at a later date from the league.
After an open forum, the meeting was adjourned.
