Brighton Junior Barons Flag Football

The goal of youth flag football is to provide a positive experience in team sports for boys and girls and teach them the basic skills of football. This program is open for children from kindergarten through 6th grade.

The season is played in the Fall. Participants play on Mondays (5:30-6:30) and Saturdays (12:00-1:00). Each player receives a t-shirt for their participation.

Teams will be divided as follows:

K through 2nd grade

3rd through 4th grade

5th through 6th grade

Registration for the 2010 Brighton Junior Barons Flag Football season began on Saturday, February 6, 2010. You may register by completing the registration form (click here to download the pdf) and sending it to us, along with payment. The registration fee is $45 for the season.

Information about Flag Football:

Q: How much is it to register for flag football?

A: The registration fee is $45 for the season.

Q: Is flag football safe?

A: Youth flag football is non-contact. There are no pads, no helmets, and no rough play. Flag football teaches the basics of football and is designed to be fun and safe.

Q: What equipment is needed?

A: Flag belts and footballs are all provided. Your coach will distribute these before each game. All you need is a mouth guard (mandatory, which we sell at the field for $1) and any pair of sneakers or cleats will do. (No metal spikes!)

Q. Can I request my son/daughter be on a team with their friends?

A. Yes, you can request to put players together on teams. However, while we try to get everyone together on a team, this is not always the case.

Q: Can I request a coach for my son/daughters team?

A. Yes, you can request a certain coach, but it is not always possible to satisfy all requests.

Q. Can we still register our son/daughter even if we don't live in Brighton?

A. Yes.

Q: Are there any size or weight restrictions?

A: There are no size or weight restrictions.

Q: Will the kids play in the rain?

A: If it is light rain we will most likely play, this is still football! However, if it coming down hard we will postpone the games until a later date. Check the website and call your coach to see if the games are still on.

Q: I am interested in coaching. Who do I contact?
