Cheerleading
Cheerleading Coordinator Pam Luconte presented the following information about our Cheerleading program:
Cheerleading practices will begin Monday August 3rd and run Monday thru Thursday 5:45-7:45. When school begins we will practice Tuesday and Thursdays 5:30-7 and Saturdays 10:30-12:30.
Other dates to save are Oct. 17th and 24th, these are the dates of our cheerleading competitions.
Nan Whitman is offering her services for strength training for the Cheerleaders, this is a 4 week focus on increasing overall strength and muscle/joint flexibility using major muscle groups of the upper and lower body. This will begin June 3rd. Please contact either Pam at paml@frontiernet.net or Nan at nbwhitman@gmail.com if you are interested.
Pam would like all cheerleaders if possible to attend the Aquinas Cheerleading Summer Camp. It runs on the evenings of July 13th, 14th and 15th. The great thing about this camp is it is very experienced in teaching proper jump technique, spotting, stunting, sidelines and dance! They also teach the girls all together so all the Brighton girls will be together throughout the learning process. The kids will benefit greatly from this camp.
