2012 Registration Information

Registration for the 2012 Brighton Junior Barons football and cheerleading teams will held on the following dates:
Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location:
Turf Time, 3750 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY
(Go to the back of the building and use the door below the 'Crossfit" sign)
Required registration materials:
For a complete registration (applies to both football and cheerleading), please bring the following:
1) A completed registration form. (Click here to download the pdf) Please note that the form is two pages and must be fully completed.
2) A copy of the athlete's physical, dated anytime after 8/1/2011.
3) A copy of the athlete's birth certificate. (If you participated in the 2011 season we will already have this on file.)
4) A copy of a recent photograph of the athlete, showing their face clearly.
5) A check made out to the "Brighton Junior Barons" for the amount of the registration fee (see below).

Returning Junior Barons are given priority over new registrants. New players may register, but will be on a wait list until both registration sessions are complete. Available spots will then be given to new registrants on a first come, first served basis.
Each football team will have a maximum of 30 players on its roster.
Please note: There are NO refunds of registration fees after May 30, 2012.
Volunteer requirements
Football & cheerleading is a family commitment. The organization depends entirely on the coordinated efforts of volunteers (you). As a parent you can expect that your children will receive quality coaching, will strengthen their values and bodies and will have an memorable season. To make that possible, the Junior Barons require each family to volunteer for 10 hours (3 time slots), per child, during the season.
Please keep in mind that there are numerous volunteers (coaches, board members, etc.) who spend more than 100 hours each year volunteering their time. However, if your circumstances do not allow you to contribute your time, we provide the option of paying $150.00 as a buy-out. We discourage this and hope it is used only as a last resort.
Volunteer sign-up sheets will be available at registration. Slots will be filled on a first come/first served basis.
We anticipate the league announcement of the game schedule in July. Once the schedule is released, volunteers will be given the opportunity to trade time slots with other volunteers to accommodate their schedules.

Football players please note:
A league (AYFCL) rule states that NO football player may play on both a high school football team and an AYFCL team. This applies to all high school football teams, freshman through varsity.
Modified football players, in 7th or 8th grade, are allowed to play on AYFCL teams. Each team is allowed a maximum of 7 modified players (playing both modified football and BJB football).
This rule pertains to modified football only. Other modified sports are not affected by this rule.

After your first child is registered, you will receive a 10% discount off your entire fee for each additional child registered.
